What your exam includes
Our clinic offers driver's medicals for commercial drivers operating trucks, buses, tractor-trailers, emergency vehicles, taxis and limousines. These exams cover Ministry of Transportation licence Classes A, B, C, D, E and F.
Commercial drivers must meet higher licensing standards because they often drive for longer hours, in challenging weather, and operate larger vehicles with greater physical demands.

- Medical history and current medication review
- Height, weight and vital signs
- Urine testing
- Vision and hearing testing
- Physical examination by a licensed physician
Requirements for commercial drivers
Commercial drivers must submit a medical report when applying for a licence and at regular intervals thereafter. Reports are generally required every five years for drivers under 46, every three years from age 46 to 64, and annually from age 65 onward.
The Ministry typically mails your medical form about 90 days before the due date. The form is sent to the address shown on your driver's licence, so keep your address current.
